Monster Cookies

I made my samples to take to our local coffee house/comedy theatre on Saturday. I made chocolate chip and snickerdoodles “bakery sized” last night.  The chocolate chip cookies have a ton of chocolate chips and are studded with mini M&Ms.  The snickerdoodles are soft and delicious as usual (they always remind me of my mom; they’re one of the few things she cooks!).

The chocolate chip cookie recipe is from Chelsea’s Messy Apron and the snickerdoodles are from Landee Lu.  I love finding recipes on Pinterest.  It’s fun to read the blog post about it and I love the back story to what they’ve made and why!

I bought myself a new beater for my Kitchen-aid mixer with the money from the Christmas baking that I did.  This beater has a silicon edge on it that scrapes the sides of the bowl for you!  Yes, you read that right…scrapes the sides of the bowl!  For you! Yep, it’s as good as it sounds!

I enjoy trying out a new recipe.  It’s a delicious experiment, because even if it’s not quite what you’re looking for, it’s still good!

My amazing husband did some ciphering for me while I was cooking and helped me calculate the cost per cookie.  I just want to say that chocolate is expensive! The chocolate chip cookies have regular chocolate chips, mini chocolate chips, and mini M&Ms.  They aren’t going to be cheap but they’ll be worth every bite!

Look at them in all of their glory!  After they cooled Charlie and I split one…they are delicious. Super chocolatey and just the right amount of salty to compliment the sweetness!  I think these are going to be a hit!

Snickerdoodles are comfort cookies for me.  They remind me of my mom and they’re so soft and slightly chewy.  I love the hint of cinnamon on the outside, too.  They almost melt in your mouth.

I’m going to have to really watch the size of these.  I have priced them for 20 cookies in each batch.  I think I’m going to divide the dough into 20 equal pieces before I start rolling them into balls and baking them.  I need to keep the size consistent for the display case.  Otherwise some people might feel like they’re getting ripped off!

I had so much fun last night.  When I started cleaning up the kitchen I though it was about 8:30 or so…when I went into the bedroom I saw that it was 10:15!  Like they say, time flies when you’re having fun!

Wish me luck on Saturday at the meeting!
